The Longhorn International Wushu Kungfu Championships is a premier cultural martial arts event dedicated to promoting wushu and all styles of traditional kungfu, including both external and internal systems. The event will take place August 8–9, 2026, at the elegant The Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria. Bringing together athletes, coaches, judges, and martial arts enthusiasts from diverse schools and backgrounds, the championships provide a platform to build friendships through martial arts while honoring tradition and embracing innovation. Our mission is to create a fair, professional, welcoming, and inspiring environment where competitors can challenge themselves, gain confidence, and celebrate the richness and heritage of traditional martial arts together. The event encourages youth engagement, cultural exchange, sportsmanship, and community connection while showcasing the diversity and spirit of kungfu. To recognize excellence, dedication, and continuous growth, the championships will award three cash prizes and up to 76 Grand Champion titles. Medals will also be presented to top-performing competitors across divisions.
As a supplemental kungfu team trial, this event can qualify athletes to become a part of the USAWKF Kungfu Team. Members of the kungfu team are eligible to participate in the World Kungfu Championships and the Pan American Kungfu Championships.
