2025 USAWKF Wushu Team Trials and 2025 USAWKF Nationals
June 27 - June 29
These team trials will select the top taolu and sanda team members and alternates to compete in the upcoming 17th World Wushu Championships to be held in Brazil later this August. Based on the performances at the 17th WWC, athletes may also qualify to go on to compete in the Taolu World Cup, Sanda World Cup and The World Games.
In an effort to broaden the range of taolu athletes this year, we will be using a new format for selecting the Taolu team. Please review the Taolu Team Trial regulations and Taolu Team Trials FAQ to fully understand the requirements to get on the team.
We also will be conducting the National Rankings for contemporary taolu and kungfu (Traditional). Our top finishers will be listed on the website in the National Rankings section. The National Rankings will also include junior taolu, so even though Junior taolu athletes don’t have a team trial to perform their compulsory routines this year the national rankings will be a great platform for them to perform. Junior taolu athletes can also use it as good practice for next year’s junior team trials.
In addition to the team trials there will also be the annual USAWKF Nationals meant for all athletes including beginner and intermediate level to compete in contemporary and kungfu (traditional) styles.
On the sanda side, the USAWKF Team Trials is one of the only events in the year where Sanda athletes can compete on the full lei tai, the same ones that are used in the World Championships. Junior sanda athletes can also jump into the action on the Lei Tai because there will be youth divisions for athletes from 5-17 year old which will be great practice for next year’s junior team trials.
According to the Lubbock Public Health Department, there is currently a measles outbreak affecting several counties in West Texas, including Lubbock County. Please seek your personal physician’s advice on whether it is safe for you to travel to Lubbock.
